Produce Music

EDM, House, Techno, Drum & Bass, and more.

This page focuses on the production of electronic dance music. At the moment, I have a tutorials using Ableton Live software for the production of two distinct progressive house and techno tracks. I'll be expanding this list eventually to include several other styles of electronic music.

If you go to my Dropbox Folder and then go into the "Bolivia's Remix Projects" sub-folder, you'll be able to download full project files for more than half a dozen tracks, either as Ableton projects or stems. Feel free to remix those tracks, or use the projects as the starting point for your own tracks.

Also, if you're trying to figure out how to find samples to use in your music production, the Splice website is very helpful. I have a video at the bottom of this page that explores how to use that site.

Courage - a Progressive House track

This series goes through each of the different parts of the track, with each video focusing on a specific part of the project. Each of these videos is quite detailed, and talks about general principles involved in production rather than just reviewing what was used in this particular project.

Part 1 - General Overview of the track:

Part 2 - Kick, snares, and hi hats:

Part 3 - Bass, piano/keys, and guitars:

Part 4 - Chords, melody, pads, vocals, effects:

Part 5 - Sends/returns, master track, production tips:

Part 6 - Not a tutorial, just a play-through of the finished track:

Hijack - a Techno track

For some reason, I didn't make any blog posts describing the production of this track, so I'll leave you with just seven videos. Also, these videos are short and don't go into the detailed tutorials that the Courage videos do. But these will be helpful for anyone who downloads the Hijack Ableton project from my Dropbox.

Part 1 - General overview of the track:

Part 2 - Drums:

Part 3 - Bass:

Part 4 - Vox (vocals):

Part 5 - Chords:

Part 6 - SFX:

Part 7 - Sidechain:

The Full Track, not a tutorial:
