DJ Bolivia presents demos by Associate DJ Marc Carnes

Here is some information about Marc and some of his past work, some photos, and also a couple of full-length CD mixes that you can download as mp3 demos.

Marc Carnes is the master of all things audio. A native of Ottawa, Marc first attended and then served for four years as the Production Technician and Technical Director of Convocation Hall and Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB. During that time, his dedication and expertise allowed him to work closely and learn all aspects of production from such great artists as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Montreal Lyric Opera, Pete Best (of Beatles fame), The Rheostatics, Blue Rodeo, Wide Mouth Mason, The Rascals, K-OS, Buck 65 and many more.

On the weekends while working the masses into a frenzy every Saturday night at the Mount Allison campus club, he quickly established himself as one of New Brunswick's most talented and versatile DJ's. Playing a unique blend of progressive house and techno, Marc's first public performance in Moncton, NB landed him a residency with Man in the Moon Productions - at the time, New Brunswick's most established production company. At the series of legendary Quake parties, Marc was called on to perform in every imaginable situation, whether it was midnight at New Years, or opening for a trio of drum and bass headliners.

As his popularity as a DJ rose with performances throughout the Maritimes, his success in event production was also gaining recognition due to his ability to execute all aspects of an event with attention to detail only a mental disorder can provide. With business partner Drew Dudley, Pure Carnage Productions organized a variety of events, from high profile charity fundraisers yielding thousands of dollars to underground parties featuring the best of Maritime talent.

As Marc's music evolved into a deeper, jazz-infused sound, he left his position at Mount Allison University to pursue other opportunities. Currently working with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Marc has a new focus on the artistic development of his many talents, and it shows. The casual listener will be enthralled by the full sound which comes from lengthy mixes while those who really pay attention will notice a fearless willingness to experiment and impeccable programming. The style of Marc Carnes is complex yet accessible, much like the man himself, and he is more than ready to deliver.
