Hallowe'en Costume - Tin Foil Hat
Well, this Hallowe'en should be pretty scary if you are a conspiracy theorist. Let's see what random rumours are flourishing on the Internet this week:
1. The US has several major naval tasks forces in the Persian Gulf, which are scheduled to begin war game "exercises" on October 31st. Of course, many people say that this is really the scheduled beginning for attacks on Iran. What are the chances of the region exploding shortly before the US mid-term elections on November 7th?
2. President Bush is planning to retire to his new ranch in Paraguay (purchased just recently by daughter Jenna), when things go to pot in the Gulf and a nuclear confrontation breaks out. He can hang out with Rev. Moon, who has another large ranch (1.5 million acres) beside him.
3. Saudi Arabia is about to run out of oil, and they have been disguising the problem for years. The ruling elite have mined the refineries there with radioactive explosives, so if some sort of terrorist incident happens, nobody can get in there to find out how severe the problem really is.
The sad thing is that there are tons of websites with supporting data for each of the above theories.
It's a crazy world, so in order to feel like an equal participant, I am going to try to make the world a better place by entertaining my friends with a slew of ridiculous Hallowe'en costumes for the next several evenings. Since tonight is a Friday, I will dress conservatively as a cowboy. On Tuesday, for the true Hallowe'en (and Trivia Night at my bar), I'll dress Mexican while I watch the fireworks on CNN. However, tomorrow night (Saturday) has me puzzled. I am going to be bartending at my own bar until 4am, for what will be a ridiculously chaotic costume party night, and then I drive to Saint John for a set there at Club Nitro, early on Sunday morning. My initial thought was to dress as a pirate, but I have also been considering wearing a kilt, nipple rings, and nothing else, so people think I'm dressed as Ashley MacIsaac.
Perhaps I'll have some entertaining photos in the next several days ...
