Best TV Show Ever
Ok, I hate television. I think it is generally something that should be considered "mindless pulp for the masses" and I really don't care how many people read this and think, "Ok, you're an idiot."
I do agree that TV has its time and place. For myself, there are a few shows that I do like. For instance, I generally tolerate Jeopardy and, um, Jeopardy. Well, hockey games are also good.
Tonight I just watched an episode of CSI Vegas. To be specific, it was s06e21, titled "Rashomama." Holy smoke, I enjoyed this episode. Here's why:
- Lots of allusions to intellectually stimulating cultural and literary references, sort of like a Simpsons episode.
- Sarcastic humour.
- Hot bitches. Well, actually, most of the bridesmaids were just "bitches," and not that hot. Most of the fine young ladies that I work with are far more attractive and have better personalities, and females should not be referred to as "bitches." But I digress.
- Sarah Sidle. Hm. As an actress, Jorja Fox comes up with some pretty nice dead-pan and/or sarcastic lines. I like it.
All in all, a complex episode. They obviously tried very hard to pack as many literary references into the shortest time frame possible, early in the show, and I was impressed when they came out with one more decent batch, half an hour later.
Well worth the price of admission.
